ZOSO

Led Zeppelin Tribute

Opener: DGS

July 3, 2023 (6 PM)

Over the 28 years and over 4500 shows since ZOSO came together as a group in the mid-‘90s, the seemingly tireless quartet has continued to earn its well-deserved reputation as being, in the words of The L.A. Times, “head and shoulders above all other Led Zeppelin tributes.” ZOSO doesn’t cut corners on either the look or sound of Led Zeppelin. Instead, the band draws liberally and meticulously from Led Zeppelin’s recorded live and studio output to present a vivid performance picture of the classic live Zeppelin of 1968-1977. No wonder the St. Petersburg Times noted that, in addition to their virtuosity and spot-on visual presentation, ZOSO is also “the most exacting of all the Led Zeppelin tributes.” The Chicago Sun-Times put it even more succinctly: “[ZOSO is] the closest to the original of any Led Zeppelin tribute.”

Head for the Hills

Opener: Strumbucket

July 4, 2023 (6 PM)

Like a painter that starts in acrylic and graduates to oils, Head for the Hills is deeper and richer in their 15th year as a band, with a wider palette of sonic textures at their disposal. Dorm room jam sessions have turned into a decade-plus on the road - from humble coffee shops to theaters, festivals, roadhouses and clubs all across the country. Over time those sounds and influences have crept more and more into the bluegrass beginnings of the band, morphing into the seasoned eclecticism of Say Your Mind. The new songs are quintessential Head for the Hills; genre-straddling, lyrically deep, and danceable, with a crew of collaborators bringing the best Colorado acoustic, roots, and soul music together. Head for the Hills numerous festival appearances include notables Telluride Bluegrass Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, South by Southwest, FloydFest, and Rockygrass. They were awarded Best Bluegrass in Colorado four times via Denver's Westword Magazine.

Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine

* Bonus Show different time & venue

July 9, 2023 (4 PM)

The Tram Stage (next to RPK3)

As a multi-instrumentalist (voice, acoustic/electric/resonator/lap steel guitars, banjo, harmonica), the “truly phenomenal songwriter” (Americana UK) works the lesser-worn corners of the American musical fabric through an unconventional lens, leading the press to describe Aaron as “a combination that goes down like top-shelf bourbon” (Austin Chronicle) with "a searing slide guitar" (Country Weekly), and “a particularly standout approach that mixes poetry, groove and roughness” (Lonestar Time). This plays out in his solo shows one-man-band experience, while the fervent instrumentalists of Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine exemplify groove and eclecticism.

Family Funk

Opener: Calder's Charge

July 23, 2023 (5 PM)

For over a decade, Family Funk enchanted audiences with an unmistakably intoxicating blend of modern and vintage sound. Comprised of eight kindred spirits from Georgia, this close-knit troupe is driven by an unwavering passion for live performance and emboldened by their own exuberance - making them one of the most electrifying acts in contemporary funk. In 2016, they released Apparitions, a crucial milestone that launched them onto the national scene via the project's single "She's So High". The song quickly gained traction on regional radio and has since amassed over one million plays on Spotify. This was just the beginning of an incredible adventure that saw them perform at some of the nation's biggest festivals, including Sweetwater 420 Festival, Peach Music Festival, and Summer Camp Music Festival; whilst providing direct support for renowned acts like Gov't Mule, Galactic, and Pigeon's Playing Ping Pong. "A jammy funky band with great vocals. What else do you need in your life?!" - Andy Frasco

Drayton Farley

Openers: Kainen Kellum and Batdorf & the Brother Wolf

July 30, 2023 (5 PM)

Alabama native Drayton Farley has as honest a voice as you're likely to hear in this burgeoning scene of country, folk, roots, and Americana music we're all wrapped up in. With songs and lyrics pulled from real-life experience, there's a grounded feeling to his stories, a confessional quality that rings true to those who know. His voice fills the room like cigarette smoke, curling into every corner of you, with a fine grit rasp that smooths out every rough edge. It lingers hours, days, after you've left the bar - turns of phrase that tumble around your mind, bittersweet and familiar. He sings as deeply about the love he holds as the love he's lost and there's something so broken-in and comfortable about that Southern inflection that every song feels like coming home. Sharing stages with musicians on the rise such as Zach Bryan, Arlo McKinley and Mike and the Moonpies, Drayton has quickly gained a loyal fan base. You can listen to Drayton’s latest album, A Hard up Life, wherever you get your music.

Diggin Dirt

Opener: Sghetti

August 6, 2023 (5 PM)

This seven-piece band emerging from behind the redwood curtain in Humboldt County, California is skyrocketing through the west coast music scene. Shoveling out their own path, and consistently wowing audiences and filling concert venues, Diggin Dirt is no ordinary funk and soul band. Their sounds explode off the stage with a pure authentic energy, and once they have you in their clutches, the relentless dance party does not let up. Their intoxicating and infectious sound is fueled by a blazing horn section, pulsating rhythms, and searing guitars, that when combined into one, have been known to entice even the shyest of wallflowers to start movin' and groovin'. Tying it all together is the band’s frontman, who is in possession of the pipes, charisma, moves, and natural-born-soul, and launches this ensemble into rarefied air. Behold, as they layer humble influences of psychedelic rock, Motown soul, Afrobeat, and even reggae, atop a sturdy foundation of late 60’s inspired funk music. You might have flashes of James Brown or Sly and the Family Stone, Otis Redding or Tower of Power, but make no mistake that you are in the presence of spine-tingling originality.

Satsang

Opener: Birds of Play

August 13, 2023 (5 PM)

Satsang is a power trio creating a unique blend of soul, folk-rock, and hip-hop. Satsang delivers lyrics that come from and are rooted in change, growth, awareness, and imperfection. The live show is everything that the band name suggests: a gathering of people to assimilate and share their truths. The rhythms put forth by the band keep everyone on their feet, and the lyrics leave them craving active and positive change. Satsang has toured all over the country and has shared the stage with the likes of Michael Franti & Spearhead, Steel Pulse, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Trevor Hall, Chris Berry, Mike Love, Jon Wayne and the Pain, Tubby Love, and many more. Flowers From The Fray (the band’s 5th album in 6 years), coupled with the band's last release All. Right. Now. is a maturing. A growing into the songwriter and musicians that the band was destined to be. A settled and firm foundation of influences and sound that brings every external aspect in and finds it internalized and distilled.

The Meditations

Opener: Chanman Roots Band

August 20, 2023 (5 PM)

Known the world over as Jamaica’s legendary harmony trio, The Meditations captured the hearts of reggae fans around the world. This led to collaborations with Lee Scratch Perry. Scratch, who produced for Bob Marley and the Wailers, asked them to do backup vocals for Punky Reggae Party, featuring Bob on lead vocals. Bob Marley was so pleased with their harmony that he went in search for the group to do more backup vocals for him. It is said by many that “The Meditation is Bob Marley’s favorite group,” which led to Bob requesting harmony and background vocals on songs like "Rastaman Live Up" and "Blackman Redemption." The Meditations harmonic vocals can be heard on some of your favorite tracks such as "Bongo Man" by Jimmy Cliffs and "Mr. Cop" by Gregory Isaacs.
