What if I lose or damage my pass?
-
Pass holder may get a complimentary J Card as a daily replacement ticket or pay the $25 replacement fee to obtain a new pass.
-
Please report lost pass to the Season Pass office as soon as possible. You are liable for any misuse while the pass is not in your possession unless you have reported your Pass lost/stolen prior to the misuse. Lost passes can be replaced for a nonrefundable $25 administrative fee.
-
Passes damaged due to normal usage will be replaced at no charge. Other damage will result in a $25 replacement fee. Do not punch an additional hole in your pass as doing so will damage the RFID antenna.
-
Season Passes are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE. Use of pass by anyone other than pass holder is considered theft of service in Wyoming (§ 6-3-408) and may subject individuals to arrest and criminal prosecution. If your Pass or the accompanying ticket is used by anyone other than yourself, your pass will be revoked for the remainder of the season and you will not be issued a refund. The purchase of a JHMR Pass or tickets may be restricted in subsequent seasons.
Do you offer refunds?
-
Refunds are issued when injury restricts skiing for a minimum of 1 month of the season. In such cases a refund will be issued only after the Pass is turned in with an original medical note signed by a physician, stating the expected length of recovery. The amount of refund will be pro-rated based upon date for Grand and Weekend Passes, and uses for Plus Passes, less an administrative fee.
A request for a refund must be received by the Ticket Office within 30 days of the injury and by April 30, 2021. Documents can be emailed to seasonpass@jacksonhole.com, or mailed to Ticketing Services, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, P.O. Box 290, Teton Village, WY 83025. For additional information, please email seasonpass@jacksonhole.com or call 307-739-2640. -
In rare cases that major lifts are closed, the JHMR Snow check policy may become effective. Refunds are not given. However, depending on which pass is affected and the policy for that day, a ski day may be credited to your pass. Snow checks are not given for Grand Passes.

Information on the J Card
-
The J Card replaced the traditional lift ticket and has a small RFID chip integrated into the card. The same chip will also be integrated into season pass products. When you pass through the lift line, the chip will register and open the lift access gate automatically. All guests loading the lift will need either a J Card or a season pass.
-
There are many guest benefits to RFID technology. First and foremost it gives hands-free access to our lifts. Once you have received a reloadable J Card, you will be able to reload the card online at any time of day, without having to wait in any ticket lines. The reloadable J Card will last multiple seasons. This way you can simply reload your ticket or pass and use it season after season. So don't throw it away.
-
RFID is a small chip and antenna integrated into your J Card or season pass. When you pass through the lift line and go through the RFID gates, this chip will register and open the access gate automatically. If you have skier days loaded onto your card the gates will open with ease just by letting the gate read your card as you approach it.
-
You can wear the Pass/J Card anywhere on your person within what we call the “strike zone.” Similar to baseball, this is anywhere between your shoulders and knees. You do not need to remove the access card from your pocket for scanning. PLEASE keep the Pass/JCard away from credit cards, cell phones, iPods, aluminum gum wrappers, avalanche beacons and all other electronic devices that may interfere with signal transmission. (Many winter jackets have a small pocket or sleeve in the arm of the jacket or around the waistline. These pockets are specifically designed for RFID cards.)
-
RFID technology is used in a wide variety of industries and applications. Recently, RFID has been added to some state's drivers licenses and passports as a cross border travel document to denote citizenship and identity. Your automobile almost certainly has an immobilizer to prevent it from being stolen. RFID has also been used extensively in toll collection, inventory control, building security, and library systems.
-
No. Because of the short read ranges of RFID and the huge amount of power that would be required to broadcast from a satellite in order to pick up information on each RFID tag, satellite reading is not practical nor is it possible.
-
No. As always, passes and tickets are not transferable. The lift attendants will see your picture (for pass holders) as you pass through the gates. Actually, RFID gates have proven to reduce fraudulent use of lift passes.
-
The card has an antenna embedded that surrounds the embedded RFID chip and any damage to the surrounding antenna will render the card inactive. We will have a pre-punched hole in Season Passes this year. However, J Cards will not have a hole. Do NOT punch a hole in the J Card yourself.
-
The radio frequencies used by RFID are assigned by regulatory agencies around the world to help ensure that no interference occurs. Avalanche beacons operate on 457kHz whereas our SKIDATA readers are on the 13 MHz frequency. So, there is no interference between the two.
-
No. The chip information is not stored magnetically. Use of a magnet or other erasing devices has no effect whatsoever on the chip.
-
JHMR Skidata lift access system is CE certified and complies with all standards. It was found that with the proper use of Skidata devices there is no danger for persons using pacemakers when passing hands free entry systems at the lift. However, for general reasons of precaution and compliance with the general requirements applicable, the general recommendations for using electromagnetic units should be observed and the following rules should be adhered to: Guests with pacemakers should not wear their lift access media cards near the heart when passing through the gate and a distance of 8 to 12 inches should be observed in the case of queues and while passing through the gate. If you prefer not to pass through the gate, please alert our validation staff at the lift and you will be given alternative direction for lift access.
-
We do not recommend washing or drying a garment with the J Card in it. The heat and moisture used in washers and dryers could ruin your J Card. We recommend removing your J Card from your garments before you wash them.
-
Each RFID tag physically contains only the randomly generated number associated with each unique user profile. No personal or additional information is stored on individual RFID tags.
-
Each unique RFID tag contains a multiple digit number randomly associated with a user profile. This profile is kept as a secure component of our point of sale system and user database. In accordance with privacy laws, your personal information is not shared with any third parties without your consent and you have access online via the Jstore to check and update your preferences.
