Update 11.7.24

It's been a little over a month since our last update and a LOT has transpired as we are full speed ahead towards opening day on November 29. The above video is from the recent load test to ensure the safety and proper functionality of Sublette. Crews load up the chairs with weight that is roughly equivalent to a full chair's worth of skiers and then run the lift, checking that everything works as it's supposed to. Prior to this, expert crews spliced the haul rope together, creating one continuous loop upon which the chair reside. Then, chairs were placed onto the rope at specific intervals and subsequently load tested.

There's still some finishing touches to be done, but with snow falling across Jackson Hole this week and a favorable forecast next week, we'll be riding this new swift Sublette in no time.

We're on-schedule for an anticipated opening sometime in December, conditions-depending. Follow along on our social channels for more updates regarding Sublette and all things Jackson Hole.

Update 10.3.24

Lift towers are installed! Check out the photos below for this exciting and important step to completing this project.

Sublette Project

The JHMR Mountain Operations teams and contractors from Leitner-Poma have worked incredibly hard to complete the new Sublette project this summer, which has involved removing the original Sublette lift and installing a brand-new, high-speed quad. Months of work and the installation of the bottom and top terminals have the project moving right along schedule, with an anticipated opening this December.

The new Sublette chair will be much quicker than the original, taking just four minutes to ascend the lift’s nearly 1600’ vertical. There will be 72 European-style comfort chairs, and the lift will be suspended along 15 towers. Skiers will load straight onto the lift and the chairs will spin in a clockwise direction which is a new feature. Additionally, the top terminal's location and size necessitated creating a slightly new traverse into Tensleep Bowl (pictures below).

The lift towers will be installed by helicopter, courtesy of Alpine Cable, this Wednesday. We’ll be sharing more photos as the project progresses and winter approaches. Stay tuned to this blog for updates, and check out the gallery below for new photos.
