Located at the Sweetwater Gondola mid-station, just a short two-minute ride from the base, Solitude Station boasts 12,000 square feet of Mountain Sports School, rental and dining facilities. This full-service lodge for Mountain Sports School guests brings to life a new center of learning and fun in Jackson Hole.

About Solitude Station

Solitude Station is the Mountain Sports School hub for children's lessons 8 years old and up, adult beginner lessons and adult class lessons. Rentals for children and adult beginners are available here as are lift tickets for all types of skiers and riders.

Overall, Solitude Station elevates the learning experience at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, as it provides a new center for learning and growing with a comfortable lodge environment. Adult beginners will feel well taken care of out of the base area bustle, while older children will enjoy the mature facility that will help them grow as skiers and snowboarders.

Solitude Station provides an enhanced Mountain Sports School experience for children 8 years and older and adult lessons for all ability levels. There are two cafeteria style dining rooms for JHMR Mountain Sports School participants and their families during the ski day.

How do I get there?

Where: Located just over 180 vertical feet above the base area, Solitude Station is accessed via the Sweetwater Gondola. Exit at the mid-station, which is just a two minute ride from the base.

Do I need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station? As long as you are wearing street shoes, you do not need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station. There will be a designated Solitude Station access line at the base of the Sweetwater Gondola for those participating in Mountain Sports School programs. Mountain Sports School guests and families can be ticketed upon check-in at Solitude Station. 

What if I am going to watch my child's lesson? As long as you are wearing street shoes, you do not need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station.

Drop-Off

Do I need a lift ticket to access Solitude Station? You do not need a ticket to drop your child off at the Solitude Station. If you wish to continue to ski or board from there, you may purchase your lift access at the Station. There will be a designated Solitude Station access line at the base of the Sweetwater Gondola for those participating in Mountain Sports School programs. Mountain Sports School guests and families can be ticketed upon check-in at Solitude Station.

What if I have different aged children in programs at both Kids Ranch and Solitude Station? Where do I start? We can accommodate check-in for children of all ages in the Kids Ranch at the Cody House so you are welcome to start there.

Dining

What food offerings are in the building? There are two cafeteria-style dining rooms for JHMR Mountain Sports School participants and their families during the ski day. JHMR will host après events and other special functions welcoming all guests.

Meeting Place: Solitude Station

Mountain Sports School offers adults (15 years and older) lessons for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. 

Private lessons will meet at the Private Lesson Meeting Place at the base, unless otherwise arranged with your instructor.

Mountain Sports School offers lessons for all levels of skiers and snowboarders between the ages of 3 and 7 years. These lessons meet at The Kids Ranch in The Cody House at the base area.

Private lessons will meet at the Private Lesson Meeting Place at the base area, unless otherwise arranged with your instructor.
