They Came. They Raced. They Left It All on the Course.

Dirty. Harry. Two words all bikers at Jackson Hole know all too well. The rowdy, technical trail loomed large in the minds of racers all week in the lead-up to the finale of the Jackson Hole Downhill Series.

After Saturday’s initial race date was postponed due to weather, Sunday morning’s skies began to clear, giving the area’s finest racers a shot at one of the most notorious trails in the Tetons. Racers lined the banked turns below Casper Restaurant, full of anticipation and determined to keep the rubber side down. 

With this being the final race in the series, there was plenty at stake, especially in the Men’s Open Amateur and Pro categories, where the day’s results would have a major impact on the final series podiums. Familiar faces like Nick Brindisi, Jessica Freeze, Sheldon Hunting, Brian Selmer, and Bridger Bybee headlined the pro fields, while plenty of new riders made it out for their first Jackson Hole race of the year. Riders from the Utah-based MFT Riders also returned for their annual trip, making sure they got their taste of Teton racing before the season came to a close. 

When it was all said and done, every rider made it down safely, and the trail conditions were all-time, sending plenty of grinning faces toward the podiums come awards time. Even more smiles and hoots followed when the non-pro category winners found out who would be walking away with brand-new POC helmets, while the Pros learned who would be taking home the cold hard cash handed out in the Pro categories.

On the women’s side, Jessica Freeze walked away with the $1,000 grand prize after wins in Races 2 and 3. JH Downhill loyalist Shelly Durtschi took home $500 for second overall, while Ciara McGinley earned third in the series behind her lone start and first-place finish in Race 1.

On the men’s side, a season-long battle between Nick Brindisi, Brian Selmer, Sheldon Hunting, and Bridger Bybee came down to the final run of the year. Selmer sealed the series title with a blistering time down Dirty Harry to secure 1st, and finishing the season with 61 points. Brindisi’s consistency across the first two races and fifth-place finish in the finale earned him second overall with 56 points, while Bybee’s first-place finish in Race 1 and runner-up result in Race 3 lifted him just above Sheldon's three-start total.

And with that, another summer of downhill racing at Jackson Hole is in the books. Three races, three different tests, and plenty of fast riding along the way. From the opening round in June to a season finale on Dirty Harry, the 2026 Jackson Hole Downhill Series delivered exactly what it was built for: local racing, competitive fields, and a pretty good excuse to ride bikes fast with your friends.
