The Via Ferrata at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) has just been expanded into even more of a world-class climbing arena. With four new routes and features, including the Burma and Tyrolean Bridges and a new ladder on Iron Way, the excitement has just been upped significantly. Connie Kemmerer’s, the owner of JHMR, vision to bring the Via Ferrata to Jackson Hole is alive and growing.

Connie Kemmerer revels in amazement on the new Tyrolean Bridge

Two years ago stage one of the Via Ferrata was installed in Casper Bowl and above the Rendezvous Lodge. The original nine routes in the first phase provided the perfect introduction of the “Iron Way” to Jackson Hole with incredible climbing and a 40-foot long suspension bridge to cap the experience off. The success of the first phase showed Connie and the building crew the vast potential in Casper Bowl for more routes and features that could transcend the Via Ferrata into a premier summer activity in the Rockies.

After two years, it was time to expand. The Via Ferrata 2.0 ups the ante and offers even more challenging routes that will push all levels of climbers. The four new routes Straight Shot, Double Cross, Iron Way and Crystal Cave, ascend Casper Bowl and feature the Burma and Tyrolean bridges and a 35ft vertical cable ladder. Crystal Cave and the new features will test your grit, stamina and nerves. Be ready to experience big exposure and harder moves on the Via Ferrata 2.0 all while under the safety of the expertly installed cable system and a guide. Enjoy the photos of the new routes which were just opened this week.
