Intermediate Terrain

Jackson Hole is known for its challenging terrain, but did you know we are also ranked highly by SKI Magazine Readers for terrain variety? Rolling groomers, adventurous kids Stash Parks, and uncrowded long runs are all here too. We have never been complacent at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and in the last few years we have prioritized improving the intermediate ski and snowboard experience to give our guests a variety of terrain to experience.

We have opened new "blue" terrain in the Casper and Teton lift area, updated old lifts to high speed quads. The Teton Lift, our 50th anniversary gift to ourselves, now offers extensive groomer skiing in what used to be off-piste and often riddled with moguls on the north side of our mountain near Apres Vous.

“That Jackson is strictly the province of experts, huckers and powder fiends is a myth whose day is fading, but still perseveres in some corners. The bottom of the mountain is mild and inviting for beginners; and last year was the first season for Jackson’s new Casper high-speed lift that services expanded intermediate terrain, giving skiers a bastion of blue runs higher up on the mountain.”

We've opened our new Sweetwater Gondola for easier access to intermediate terrain and quicker access out of the base area. In addition to these on-mountain improvements, we've also increased the size of our grooming fleet to ensure all guests experience the best conditions possible during their visit. With an increased snowmaking capacity and increased grooming operations, not only does it make the blue slopes a consistent corduroy, it means slopes that used to be the territory of advanced skiers are now smooth and wide, increasing options for all ability levels.
