Choose Your Line, Stay Together

Take a close look at our trail map—at the top of every lift (except the tram), you’ll find a network of blue trails and cattracks weaving across the mountain. Many of these trails skirt around steeper terrain, making them perfect for families with mixed abilities: part of the group can take on more challenging runs while others stick to easier slopes, then regroup later. Along the way, the trails offer not just fun turns, but also stunning scenery as you traverse the mountain.

Kids Lessons

At Jackson Hole, our mission is to inspire the next generation of skiers and snowboarders. Our staff live to ski and ride, and they’re eager to share that passion while helping kids progress with confidence and joy. Year after year, children grow with us—starting as curious Bears, advancing to Bison and Wolves, and eventually soaring as Eagles. Being part of that journey is a true privilege, and we can’t wait to welcome your little ones, whether they’re brand new to the sport or returning to reach new heights.

Just two minutes from the base via the Sweetwater Gondola, Solitude Station is the hub of our Mountain Sports School. This 12,000-square-foot lodge features learning spaces, rentals, and dining facilities—all designed to create a welcoming, full-service center where families can relax and kids can thrive on the mountain.

Triangle of Safety

Around the mountain, you’ll see clear signage promoting our Triangle of Safety and the Responsibility Code. These reminders keep safety top of mind and make sure every guest shares the same commitment—looking out for themselves and for each other on the slopes.

Speed

Always control your speed and stay within your limits. In crowded areas, go with the flow and slow down when visibility is limited. Continuously scan ahead for obstacles like rocks, trees, or people. When entering a steep section, reduce speed and ensure it's clear to proceed.

Space

Always yield to downhill skiers/riders as they have the right of way. Maintain space and anticipate traffic. When passing, do so cautiously and ensure there's enough room for safe maneuvering. Communicate your intentions when necessary to respect others' personal space.

Self

You are responsible for your own and others' safety. Take breaks if you're tired or frustrated to avoid accidents. Wear a helmet and ensure your equipment is in good condition. Check in with yourself before starting and stay aware of your surroundings.

Slow Zones

Certain areas of the mountain (highlighted on the map below) are designated SLOW ZONES. In these areas, please match the general flow of traffic and keep your speed under control—fast or aggressive skiing and riding will not be tolerated.

Don’t worry, this is Jackson Hole—you’ll find no shortage of steeps, cirques, chutes, and airs to push your limits. But our Slow Zones aren’t the place for that. With help from our dedicated Speed Wranglers, we keep these areas safe so everyone can enjoy the mountain. Check the map below to see where Slow Zones are located.
