18 NEW Disc Golf Holes

Disc golf - combining ergonomic athleticism, disc strategy, friendship, and a chill hour or two, all in the confines of beautiful Jackson Hole! Come one, come all, disc golf is for beginners, professionals, intermediates, kids, families, and all ages! And lucky for you - JHMR, with the generous help of the newly formed non-profit Teton Disc Golf Club has remapped an entirely new 18 hole course for the summer of 2022.

Due to construction projects, the course has made many shifts in the past few years, and hopefully, we're here to stay this time! The new course starts just uphill of the base by the Ropes Course under Sweetwater Gondola. A prominent practice basket (not to be mistaken for hole 1) will lead you to the sound of chains. Hole 1 starts a short walk from the practice area to the right through the woods.  The course weaves its way up the Teewinot lift line, crossing open ski runs, and skirts the wood's edge. It tops out adjacent to Solitude Station and has some great downhill hucks off holes 8 and 9 to relieve the initial uphill hike.

This year's course has a few out-of-bounds lines, as well as mandatory throws (referred to as 'mandos' in disc golf lingo). Both these features are marked on the course signage and lead to a one-stroke penalty if you go 'OB' or miss the mando. 

If you were around a decade ago, some of the next holes might remind you of old holes 8-10 from the historic 10 hole course in the 2010s. The new terrain of holes 13-14 is a familiar way home to Ski Patrollers in the winter, but disc golf has never entered these woods before. Finish strong with a gentle bomb on hole 18. 

The new course is indeed a multi-use area and weaves and winds through much of the JHMR bike park, and a few hiking trails. Please be courteous to everyone, and yield to bikers and hikers. Many guests aren't familiar with disc golf, and might not know that they're standing in the middle of the hole. Take some time and let them know the sweet sport you're playing! Offer a quick throwing tip, help direct traveling players to the next hole, and spot some discs for your friends!
