START Bus

If you're looking to get around without renting a car, Jackson Hole offers the START Bus. Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START Bus or START) is the public transportation system that serves the residents and visitors of Teton County, Wyoming. START Bus runs routes within the town of Jackson, between Jackson and Teton Village as well as commuter routes from Star Valley, WY and Teton County, ID.

START runs frequently in both the summer and winter months, providing transportation between Jackson and Teton Village and Jackson and Teton County, Idaho. As an added bonus, START's new hybrid buses, the first in the state of Wyoming, reduce fuel consumption by approximately 35%. Rides vary from $1 - $3 one way, depending on pick-up and drop-off locations.

Free Stilson Lot

Also called the Village Road Transit Center, the FREE Stilson Lot is an 850-space parking lot 7 miles away from Teton Village with a heated transit center and restrooms. Free shuttles and busses from the Stilson Lot take you to the base of Teton Village.

Do I Need A Car?

If you are staying in Teton Village, you will inevitably travel to downtown Jackson to shop and dine. If you are staying in town, you will need transportation to and from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Both types of trips can be taken on the public bus system - START (Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit) Bus. A cheap and efficient way to travel around the valley, a one-way trip from downtown Jackson to Teton Village costs $3 per person.

Parking in Teton Village

During the summer months, parking in all Teton Village lots is free of charge. RV parking is available in the Ranch Lot and Stilson Lot (no overnight parking allowed). We also have a free shuttle service that runs between the Ranch Lot and the base of the mountain from 6:30am - 6pm (no shuttle service from 12:45pm - 1:45pm).
