Level 1:” I’ve never skied” “I haven’t skied in many years and want to start from scratch.”
First time skier.
Level 2: “I can slide, slightly change direction and come to a stop.”
Can straight run, wedge and stop on easy green.
Level 3: “I can link turns together. All my turns are in the same shape. I am making my way towards green terrain. I can ride a lift.”
Can stop and turn on green terrain.
Level 4: “I am linking turns together and skiing easy green terrain. I am learning to make different turn shapes.”
Can control speed through turn shape on greens.

Level 5: “I can do a variety of turn shapes. I ski mostly parallel. I am working on speed control, hockey stops in both directions, and I am starting to use my poles.”
Can do a variety of sizes and shapes to control speed on easy blues working on parallel.
Level 6: “I can do basic parallels on most blue terrain. I am developing my pole touch/plants. I am beginning to ski off-piste and explore trees and bumps. I am beginning to develop turns on easier double blues and black runs.”
Can make parallel turns on blue terrain working on off trail skiing and pole use.
Level 7: “I can control my speed through turn shape. I can use my pole touch on blue and black terrain. I am developing my skiing through all intermediate terrain and some black terrain.”
Can control speed through turn shape while parallel with pole use on most blue and black terrain.

Level 8: “I am making different turn shapes including rhythmic short turns and larger carved turns on all blue and black terrain. I am developing rhythmic skiing in bumps, trees, and chutes with pole touch. I am comfortable exploring harder black and double black terrain.”
Can ski on variable black terrain in a variety of turn sizes and shapes working on bumps, trees, chutes etc.....
Level 9: “I can ski the entire mountain. I am working on skiing faster, smoother, and difficult lines with flow. “I am learning different strategies to approach the hardest terrain and variable snow conditions.”
Can ski all terrain and conditions working on tactics to improve desired outcomes.
