A deluge of light-density, cold smoke powder snow inundated Jackson Hole and the Tetons beginning on Thursday, January 26 and didn't stop for roughly three days. During that span, we received 52" overall, bringing our season total up to 350". Whenever the portal to powder heaven opens here, it's a special time. And this storm was all-time, statistically-speaking: per OpenSnow, the 41" recorded in Rendezvous Bowl between January 28-29 was the highest 48-hour total ever dating back to the winter of 1974-1975!

Friday, January 27 was joyous. Abundant weightless flakes fell on top of a layer of high-pressure treated snow, so that most turns produced at least a chest-deep immersion and commonly face-shots and overhead white rooms. Hoots, hollers, and stoke-fueled smiles were everywhere, coming from those fortunate enough to ride Jackson Hole that day.

Saturday, January 28. We awoke to 27" of fresh in 24 hours and another 11" overnight. Game-on. With so much snow, avalanche mitigation was top-of-mind and we want to thank Jackson Hole Ski Patrol for taking extra caution to ensure all guests had a safe, fun experience skiing and riding so much snow. Anytime it snows more inches than there are hours in a day, you know a bucket-list-type day is in store. If you need a visual aid, please scroll down and peruse the mouth-watering photos below.

Another 6" graced us on Sunday, January 29, as did blue skies in the afternoon. Improved visibility revealed bright sights of powder everywhere, glistening fields of untouched snow, fully-caked trees and the awe-inspiring contrast of a shimmering white mountain set against a deep azure sky.

If you were lucky enough to be here Thursday through Sunday, you probably scored one of the best on-snow day of your life. And if you weren't, now's the time to secure your stoke and lock in your next trip to Jackson Hole.
